From An Idea to Reality

The Cape Coral High School Solar Car Team was created in April 2024 by Mason Huffman. As a kid, he participated and won many middle school solar car and solar boat competitions. He dreamed of starting a high school solar car team and with his perseverance, dedication, and hard work, the Cape Coral High School Solar Car Team was established. Not only did he want to participate in the SunChase Solar Go-Kart Competition, but he wanted the team to inspire young students to pursue knowledge through outreach programs. In these outreach programs, students from elementary and middle schools across SWFL engage in STEM activities such as building miniature solar cars and learning about the opportunities STEM education offers.
